A definitive set, if ever there was one, and part of a three part series investigating Opera Singers of the last century.
This is Volume 2, which covers the emergence of Verismo, Wagner and German styles, and singers of Imperial Russia, the recordings from 1901 to 1916, all remastered for LP by EMI.
A sampling of singers in this set includes Enrico Caruso, Giusseppe Anselmi, Giovanni de Negri, Amadeo Bassi, Ada Adini, Emma Carelli, Cesira Ferrani, Amelia Pinto, Guerrina Fabbri, Frieda Hempel, Lilli Lehmann, Johanna Gadski, Edyth Walker, Erik Schmedes, Gustav Walter, Natalia Yuzhina, Alexander Davidov, Vladimir Kastorsky, and Joachim Tartakov, among man, many others.
A 6LP set, here in a box that exhibits some shelf and edge but all neatly so, simply appears aged. Within, the book is fine and all 6LPs appear unplayed, mint.
A marvelous set, that one look at the labels on the front of the box will tell you…collecting all these singers from their original discs would be near impossible.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
