RARE RECORDS of IMMORTAL VOICES Florence Nightingale
Very interesting classic 33rpm record of "The only existent recording of the famed "Angle of Mercy" made over 60 years ago". I cannot find when the record was produced. However, based on the information stated it must have been around 1950. In reference to the original recording heard here it was made in 1890 on a wax cylinder. This extremely clean and flawless recording has an introduction about Florence Nightingale and then you hear the 1890 recording.Nightingale was born in 1820 and was to become famous during the Crimean War in 1854 when she worked tirelessly as a nurse wounded soldiers well into the night and became known as "The Lady of the Lamp".It is quite amazing to actually hear the voice of someone who was born in the year last year of the reign of King George III and while James Monroe was President of the U.S. S+H median rate $4, insurance upon request. Overseas other rates apply.
