Description

On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Red Dirt called 'Red Dirt' and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1st Stereo Pressing!!!! THIS IS A SERIOUSLY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT AND IS SURELY ONE OF THE RAREST LPS YOU WILL EVER SEE!!!!  THIS LP RARELY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE AND IS A MASSIVE RARITY IN EVERY RESPECT!!!!  THIS IS THE 1970 UK 1ST STEREO PRESSING WITH A FULLY LAMINATED 1ST PRESS COVER, 1ST PRESS FONTANA LABELS, AND 1/1 MATRIX ENDINGS!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the original Fontana UK Stereo 1st pressing from 1970 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is TL 5540 on the 1st Press Fontana label (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing!!!!  All the tracks are pure quality Red Dirt at their best!!!! Any fan of Red Dirt, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

However there is something important to note about this record. While it is in STUNNING condition generally - clearly there was a mispressing at the factory to one label.  The previous owner told he worked at Fontana in the late 1960s and early 1970s and often was allowed to take the occassional record home from the factory if they were slightly 'mispressed' in some small way.  In this case the label was slightly mispressed and as you can see from the pictures one of the labels is missing a small part on the right of the side 1 label.  Not only that but this LP was marked as a mispressing at the factory on the same side by a long 'u' shaped line (which barely sounds AT ALL - I will explain later on).  Apart from this the record and cover are BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY EVER BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, the 1 long line on one side I mentioned before, only 2 or 3 light hairlines, a couple of NON sounding MEGA light surface marks and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!! THE RECORD RETAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED LOOK!!!!  It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO nasty loud pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, NO hiss and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! However the one long line from the factory (I mentioned before) sounds (ALWAYS at VERY low level) intermittently thoughout Side 1. Even at its VERY worst it is no more than the LOWEST level click/pop, and there are periods of NO sound AT ALL.  Not only that but the music on this LP is VERY loud and most of these MEGA low level clicks/pops are lost in the music.  Believe me this LP still sounds BRILLIANT!!!!  I listened to BOTH sides and the intermittent MEGA low level click/pop from the line fades into great insignificance when you actually listen to the LP and barely distracts AT ALL!!!!  There is NO groovewear either and NO distortion - and it is VERY obvious by the INCREDIBLY clear sound signals that this record has barely been played AT ALL!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++++ if not better (not including the one line from the factory). I have described the line from the factory in great detail AND accurately - so I will leave any prospective buyer to make up their own mind about that.  But think VERY carefully before passing on this record!!!!  This record is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to locate and plays VERY well in general terms with CRYSTAL CLEAR sound signals, NO nasty loud pops, NO hiss, virtually ZERO crackle, NO jumps, NO sticks and only VERY minor intermittent LOW LEVEL sound distractions (mentioned before).  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL inner sleeve!!!! The 1st Press FULLY LAMINATED Cover is in STUNNING condition!!!!  The Cover has NO rubbing, NO ringwear, VERY shiny laminate, NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear, NO splits, NO rips, only a VERY few light creases (Cover is VERY flat looking), and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the laminated back is in STUNNING condition with NO wear, 1 TINY brown 'age' mark, NO Grubbyness, and NO yellowing!!!! The cover must grade Excellent (Minus) if not better!!!! THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT, AND WHILST THIS ONE MAY NOT BE MINT (THOUGH IT HAS CLEARLY BARELY EVER BEEN PLAYED) IT HAS A STUNNING COVER AND A GREAT RECORD!!!!  JUST ASK YOURSELF HOW OFTEN TO THESE TURN UP?  VIRTUALLY NEVER!!!! DONT MISS THIS INCREDIBLY RARE CHANCE TO OWN THIS MASSIVELY RARE LP!!!!

HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP!!!!
