Description
Scarce vintage jazz LP featuring RED GARLAND TRIO on the PRESTIGE label, from 1957. Title is “GROOVY.” Catalog number is LP 7113, monaural pressing.
Record is thick vinyl, with deep groove. Label address is "PRESTIGE RECORDS INC * 446 W. 50th ST., N. Y. C." Matrix number is hand-etched, “RVG” is machine stamped in trailoff vinyl.
Jacket is original thick construction with heavy laminate on front. At bottom right has “For free catalog send to PRESTIGE RECORDS, INC., 447 west 50th street, new york 19, n.y.” in small print.
Personnel consist of the following: RED GARLAND - piano; PAUL CHAMBERS – drums; and ARTHUR TAYLOR – drums.

Jacket: nice VG to VG+. Overall very presentable with a couple obvious flaws. Has some surface wear on reverse, and some darkening along the right side (this could probably be cleaned up by someone who is expert, but I did not attempt). Front artwork is clean and bright. Seams are overall fairly nice. There is a very small split at top right that is just beginning. Bottom seam and spine are nice. Corner points show wear spots. I do not consider any of these flaws to be too serious, as the cover overall is very presentable for its age and the type of construction.
Vinyl: nice EX. This album plays beautifully on all tracks, with brilliant fidelity. It appears to have been played a small number of times and handled with reasonable care. The vinyl does show a couple surface scuffs and minor slide lines, but none are serious and the album provides an excellent listening experience. Would make a great playing copy.
