A truly record-breaking series of concerts recording in London's garden, 'Live In Hyde Park' is the Red Hot Chili Peppers' first live album and a document of the highest grossing series of concerts of all time. Phew! Recorded on the crest of the Red Hot Chili revival which saw mercurial guitarist Frusciante return to the fold in 1998, this Quadruple LP set sees the band are the poppiest and mightiest. The songs may have been selected as a 'greatest hits' set, but each cut is tight-as-a-ducks' proverbial, with all four members on top form.
Released as a limited edition vinyl set in 2004, this Quadruple package is easily one of the most luxurious vinyl releases I've ever seen. FOUR thickly cut and perfectly mastered discs cased in a MEGA heavy, laminated glossy gatefold sleeve adorned with beautiful sepia photographs which are offset with great colour photograph of the band. The inner bags are nicely done too, up-close-and-personal photos and fan shots, all on quality glossy paper. The inner gatefold is a eagle-eye shot of the gig and London town fading into the background. The spine is wide, glossy affair which looks great on your LP shelf!
Obviously, this set sold out pretty quickly, meaning second hand is the only way you can grab one of these now. I will start this listing low and with NO RESERVE... I always pack well and take pride in satisfied customers!
CONDITION OF VINYL: EXCELLENT +. The vinyl shows almost NO signs of having been played AT ALL. All eight sides GLISTEN like new records, and with the exception of some VERY minor paper scuffs on SIDE FOUR, there are no other surface marks in evidence. The paper scuffing mentioned above is par for the course and DOES NOT affect playback. In fact, I have play tested this set, and the playback is simply STUNNING. Every snare crack, ever Flea bass slap and every Frusciante guitar lick is crystal clear and rocking. The bass reproduction will really shake your stomach: NOTHING compares to hearing this music on VINYL. The playing surfaces contain some minor discolourations which are COMPLETELY normal for modern discs not pressed on virgin vinyl. I take my gradings VERY seriously and would never attempt to over grade. My highest grading for an opened disc is NEAR MINT, and so EXCELLENT + is pretty near NEAR MINT, if you catch my drift. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
CONDITION OF SLEEVE: NEAR MINT. The packaging is JAW DROPPING. All aspects of the sleeve are AS NEW and unblemished. The luxury sleeve is uncreased and unworn, with the spine being completely legible and stiff. The inners are all as new, and all edges of the sleeve are free from wear. You will simply be amazed at this sleeve!!
I am an avid collector of many, many genres and keep my records in IMMACULATE condition. I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING MINT THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.
All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 12" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be 100% SATISFIED!
