Vernon Green & The Medallions recorded many timeless car-themed numbers: in Coupe De Ville Baby, the singer's girl is described as "built like a Cadillac, and you know how good that feels". A terrific single on glittering clear vinyl.
The Swallows' It Ain't The Meat (It's The Motion) says "it's the movement that gives it the sock!" This 1951 recording rocks and rolls with Sixty Minute Man in the R&B Double-Entendre Hall Of Fame. The tune was memorably covered by Maria Muldaur on her hit LP Waitress In A Donut Shop (1974). She turned in an energetic performance, but there's no topping the 1951 original.
Original Lewis Lymon & The Teenchords singles are treasured collectors' items, and sell for $100-$200 each (or more) in decent condition. Here's a scarce RED vinyl 45 of Your Last Chance and its B-side "answer song" to Too Young. This is not a reissue; both sides are previously unreleased, and this Collectables 45 has a book value of $25!
