This is an incredibly rare 45 rpm UHQR Reference Recording LP by Red Norvo titled "The Forward Look" (RR-8) (1957) (Stereo). This album is so rare that most people don't even know that it was done. It is commonly known that there are MFSL UHQR's, but this one has remained something of a secret. ***** This fantastic album was recorded by Keith Johnson on New Years Eve, 1957, in a small club setting. He used a custom made, tube 3 channel stereo tape deck. It was one of the very first made. He used 3 Altec mics, and recorded it as a live club performance. It was mastered by Doug Sax, and pressed on Japanese virgin vinyl. Haf speed mastering was by the late, great Jack Hunt at JVC, and of course pressed by JVC in Japan on 220 gram, UHQR virgin vinyl. ***** The songs are: 1. Rhee Waahnee 2. The Forward Look 3. Cookin' At The Continental ***** Performances are by: Red Norvo-Vibes, Jimmy Wyble-Guitar, Jerry Dodgian-Reeds, Red Wooten-Bass, John Markham-Drums ***** The gatefold jacket is still in beautiful crisp condition with no splits or noticible wear. The record is pristine with no marks or scratches. It looks like there might be one very small spindle mark on one label. It is as close to new as you are likely to find.
