Super rare, long out of print audiophile LP title made by Professor Johnson at Reference Recordings back in 1984. LP features the Chicago Pro Musica performing a variety of works by Walton, Strauss, Scriabin and Nielsen. This is the first edition of this LP, which was cut at 45rpm for wider dynamics and amazing sound. MUCH better than the regular 33 1/3rpm version!The Chicago Pro Musica is a chamber music ensemble comprising solo musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, organized in 1979 by clarinetist John Bruce Yeh. Originally known as the Chicago New Music Ensemble, their goal was to introduce works of contemporary composers to Chicago and to perform 20th century masterpieces. However, they have since expanded their repertoire to also include major works of the classical and romantic chamber music literature.
