ITEM: " Greatest Hits ", by The Maytals. Manufactured by Beverley's records, Kingston, Jamaica, catalog number BLP-021.
COMMENTS / CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection - it is not a beat up item bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played.
Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.
Vinyl is in VG+ to VG++ Condition with a nice glossy luster. There are no warps, deep scratches, cracks, or chips, or excessive groove wear. A close inspection under a bright light source revealed a few wispy scuffs and hairlines which are cosmetic and do not affect the playback or listening enjoyment of the performances. On my older system, both sides played quietly with no issues. There were no pops, skips, or groove lock. Sound quality was excellent. NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.
Both labels are in excellent, clean condition with no peeling edges, rips, or writing. The center hole is perfectly round and shows no signs of abusive playing.
The inner sleeve is a standard white paper sleeve.
I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.
Cover is in VG to VG+ Condition, still encased in shrink wrap ( opened ). Visible age tanning is present, mostly on the back cover. There are a few small crease lines and edge wear, a small 3/4 inch tear in the opening edge of the back cover, and a 2 inch center split in the bottom seam. The other 2 seams are strong with no splits. The spine is straight and is easily readable. Crisp, bright colors, and clear, sharp photos and artwork. This is not a cut-out, there are no drill holes, notches, or clipped corners. No stickers, labels, price tags, tape, or writing.
Do not sleep on this one! Clean copies in this great condition are seldom seen on Ebay. It may be a long time ( if ever ), that another copy in this condition becomes available.
