Description
It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.
They went to lots of parties.
That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.
HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).
This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..
Please bear that in mind when reading my descriptions.
However....
This time you can ignore the bit above in RED letters.
This is an amazingly lovely, clean, shiny, tidy 45 rpm record, and it’s a good tune as well!
It is Yvonne Harrison with Tommy McCook and the Supersonics on UK Caltone TONE 102A/B.
They are performing “The Chase” and “Take My Hand”.
Can you imagine what a slog it was trying to find info about this wonderful record on the internet? Every time I typed “The Chase” into Google, up came a picture of Bradley Walsh.
Anyhoo, it is a brilliant tune, released in the UK in 1967 and it can be YOURS, because this here is an original issue which is, unbelievably, as clean as a limerick recited by Isla St Claire at Mrs Mary Whitehouse's birthday party.
It shines like W.C. Fields’ nose and plays beautifully.
You will never ever find a cleaner copy.
Let’s call it EX condition although a thieving ratbag in a dimly lit record fair would call it “mint”... which it very nearly is!
It will fill the floor at any skinhead mud-wrestling rave, society luncheon, or Jumbie Jamboree.
Go on. It’s been a rotten year.. treat yourself, you deserve it.
