Condition: A Kind of Magic is VG+ Plays back really well. The gatefold jacket is in VG condition - pin holes in corners/displayed at some point - No issues really clean - The jacket insert is VG....
Hot Space is in VG to VG+ condition again plays back really well. The jacket is in good condition, very little wear and the jacket insert is also in good condition(Cool) again very clean.
Near Mint (NM or M-)
A Near Mint record has more than likely never been played,and it's expected that the vinyl will play perfectly with noimperfections during playback. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher thanthis implying that no record is ever perfect. The record should show no obvioussigns of wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus record will show signs that it wasplayed used, handled and stored by a previous owner(s) who took good careof it. Any defects are of a cosmetic nature to the vinyl not affecting the fullactual playback. In theory a VG+ record should sound similar to a Near Mint(NM) one. Vinyl surfaces may/will show some signs of wear and may/willhave slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect the fullplayback. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are okay.
Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a Very Good Plus record will be morepronounced in a Very Good item. Surface noise will be evident upon playing,especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, butwill not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will startto be noticeable, as with light scratches or scuffs that will/mayaffect the full playback.
Good, Good plus (G, G+)
A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played throughwithout skipping, but it will have significant surface noise, scratchesand a visible groove wear.
Sleeves/Jackets/Labels/Reference
Sleeves jackets and labels, I will describe thecondition sensibly and this will link to the age of the item. Can Ialso ask that you look at the photos provided – as always with thisentire, if you need anymore information just ask and thisincludes matrix numbers and etchings.
For reference: A vinyl skip in this case is a verynoticeable sound that affects the playback and it may last for quite a fewrotations. A vinyl click in this case is a sound on playbackthat is a much less noticeable sound that does not affect the full playbackexperience.
