Description

This is the first 45 by R.E.M. It is on the independent Hib-Tone label (Cat. No. HT 0001). It features two classic R.E.M. songs, “Radio Free Europe” and “Sitting Still.” This is a founding gem of American indie rock (even though R.E.M. eventually went on to the majors).

It comes in a picture sleeve. The sleeve has some creasing and some ringwear along the bottom. The record is clean and plays without significant surface noise.

It has been called to my attention that this is a first pressing of R.E.M.'s first-ever 45. Only 600 copies of the Hib-Tone single were pressed without the address at the bottom of the label. I have added a picture to show the label more clearly.
