Description
Ongoing occasional sale of selected items from my personal collection of vinyl and CDs, the vast majority of which have been owned by me from new and have been safely stored in a smoke-free home. I try to describe each item as accurately as possible (vinyl will usually be play-tested) and therefore don't routinely accept returns - but I'm happy to offer a no quibble refund in the unlikely event that significant defects are found which were not called out in the listing.
Any questions please ask. Thanks for looking!
This item....
- Rare (in this condition!) 1988 European pressing of R.E.M.'s first major label album
- With hype sticker and printed paper polylined inner
- Label / catalogue number - Warner Bros. WX 234 925795-1
- Vinyl matrices - A3 / B2
- Based on the full vinyl matrices I believe this is the Direct Metal Mastered version (www.discogs.com/release/15202613-REM-Green)
- From memory I bought this on first release but it never liked it as much as their earlier albums for I.R.S. - as a result the vinyl has had minimal play in 35 years so still sounds superb throughout - it's lovely and flat and I didn't detect any pops/clicks or crackle
- The record also looks fantastic thanks to the polylined inner (why isn't this standard for new LPs now??) and this has prevented the formation of hairlines from the handful of plays
- The outer sleeve is certainly a strong EX and is very close to mint - the spine is faded and has one tiny crease and there's a little shelf wear on the bottom edge
- The hype sticker is still firmly attached and shows no signs of aging
- The printed inner has no splits or tears but has faint ring marks on the corners and looks a bit 'bobbly' as hopefully captured in the pictures - I believe the latter effect is caused by the small blobs of adhesive which attach the polyliner to the paper (I'm pretty sure it always looked like this)
- Both labels are immaculate
- Records will be dispatched in a high quality custom mailer
- Unless the item is new and still sealed I'll remove the record from both the outer sleeve and any printed inner in order to prevent seam splits in transit
- UK - I'll combine postage if buying more than one item - please wait for invoice
- Rest of the world - Please note that I only sell overseas via ebay's Global Shipping Programme, which sets postages rates and does not appear to include the facility to combine p&p costs for multiple purchases. Please don't bid if you're not prepared to accept GSP costs or process - thanks
- And I'm not currently shipping to Belarus, Ukraine or the Russian Federation
