Description
I will declare a lower amount on the customs form for all countries so as to avoid/decrease high import charges. However, in the case of the EU all purchases are subject to VAT which eBay collect at point of sale. No shipping to Russia currently.
R.E.M. : Green 1A / 1B 1st Press 1988 UK/Europe
This first pressing in STUNNING in every way and put simply plays 'as new' no exaggeration. I have listened to every track in full and the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is second to none. You would not be disappointed if you had just purchased it brand new! There is no background to be heard and I graded every track as Mint there is not even a single Mint- in there! This is without doubt a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing as it just could not play any better. The vinyl is in superb condition also and has clearly hardly ever been played.
The cover is in lovely condition with only very minimal shelf wear. It has the number 4 'spot varnished' over both the Rs on the front and a gray sticker on the back with the tracklist. The inner sleeve is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has an immaculate glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Even when I look under a bright light I can only find a small number of sleeve removal faint hairlines that obviously have no bearing on the superb audio. The WB labels are pristine with only one tiny barely visible spindle trace on S2.
Play grading
'Pop Song 89' plays with outstanding power and definition through every section and the clarity is 10/10 also. A sublime Mint start to the album.
'Get Up' is just as impressive with no background of any kind, not even a solitary dust tick. Mint
The slow quiet build up on 'You Are The Everything' plays perfectly and it continues to play with a clarity that can only be described 'as new' right to the final note. Another Mint track.
The classic 'Stand' plays with stunning clarity and power from start to finish with no intrusion. Mint
'World Leader Pretend' provides more evidence of a vinyl so well preserved and hardly played. The clarity and warmth of the audio is quite simply out of this world and again there is no background whatsoever not even on the fade out. An incredible Mint version.
'The Wrong Child' ends S1 with a clarity of sound that could not be bettered. A relatively 'sparse' track and yet the playback is Mint all the way through.

'Orange Crush' plays with stunning precision with no sign of any interference. Another classic R.E.M. track that is so powerful and clean. Mint
'Turn You Inside-Out' again plays with phenomenal clarity and power. This is getting a little repetitive!! Mint
The largely acoustic 'Hairshirt' plays beautifully without any background. Honestly the clarity of sound here is incredible - every note is so clean and precise and the fade out is 'as new' also. Mint
'I Remember California' more than keeps up the standard and plays with perfect sonic quality with no background. Again. The sheer depth of the audio really stands out here. The clarity is quite impressive also! Mint
The 'Untitled' final track plays with immaculate audio throughout. No ticks, clicks, pops or static just pure Mint audio.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in great condition with only the bare minimum of wear. The top edge has just one very small rub where the vinyl has 'pushed' against the surface underneath slightly but has not resulted in a split. The bottom two edges have minor rubbing but otherwise it remains in superb shape. The spine is perfect as are the front and back cover. A superb example.The poly-lined paper inner sleeve has only very minimal spotting on the credits side but you can only see this when you hold it at a certain angle, even then it is still faint. Very minor creasing also.
Play tested on my Rega P2 with AT-VM95EN Cart / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
