Description
This is the insanely rare record that began everything new and important in rock for the next 15 years: the first, the only, the original 1981 R.E.M. single from Hib-Tone Records with "Radio Free Europe" on the A side and "Sitting Still" on the B. The vinyl is in outstanding shape, and has not left the seller's hands since it was bought the year of issue at the famous Wuxtry Records in Athens, Georgia, where "Wuxtry Pete" Buck used to sell used vinyl to broke students before it turned out he and Mike and Michael and Bill had a sound that would change the way people thought about rock'n'roll. The music is raw and exciting, as close as you can get to the 40-Watt Club! These singles rarely appear for sale, as Hib-Tone was the brainchild of a University of Georgia law student who never produced another disc.
