Description

Rare original double vinyl LP version of the classic 1996 R.E.M. album ‘New Adventures In Hi-Fi’, Warner Bros. Records 9 46320-1.

Gatefold sleeve has a few light edge creases, light corner bumps and ringwear, with a little handling evidence. Still great structure and colour (for a black and white sleeve!), and overall grades EX.

Vinyl plays extremely well with very strong, clean audio. Record one has a small pressing fault evident on side1, band 1 and side 2 at the start of band 2; it looks like a small piece of dust has made its way into the stamper as the vinyl has been pressed. The affected areas play through with no skips or jumps, but there are audible clicks as the stylus passes over. To be honest, audio is still extremely strong, and the clicks don’t affect the enjoyment of the music. Apart from this, record one is very clean, with just a couple of very light hairlines not affecting audio.

Record two has a very light skating scuff across side 4, but this doesn’t seem to affect audio at all, which is clean and strong. Otherwise mark-free.

Overall, taking into account the minor faults and the fact that the records play so well, the grade for vinyl is EX.
