Description
Here’s another fully signed R.E.M. piece, this one also obtained from Randy O., editor of the 394 Oconee R.E.M. fanzine. It’s the “Radio Free Europe” Hib-Tone single (second issue, with the address on the label) signed by every member on the back of the sleeve. Randy obtained this at an in-store appearance in Boston, and Peter Buck has added “Harvard Square” beneath the sleeve text. A scarce single, and nicer too that it’s signed by the entire band. I acquired a lot of Randy’s collection when she started helming a Pearl Jam fanzine.
The single itself is in Mint condition, no scratches. The sleeve has a a bit of wear, and the bottom is starting to split. I’ve kept the record and the sleeve separately, and this has been in my possession for the past dozen years.
This is one of three signed R.E.M. pieces I’m currently selling, all original & authentic signatures. I’m clearing out a fair amount of R.E.M. material, all of the Holiday fan club packs from 1988 to 1996, as well flexi discs, singles, and plenty more, so please see my other auctions if that’s of any interest to you. Obviously, we’ll combine shipping for multiple wins.
