Description

REMI GASSMAN / OSKAR SALA : Electronics: Music To The Ballet / Five Improvisations On Magnetic Tape LP (Westminster [USA] WST 14143) 1961.

Record is Near Mint (our highest grade for an opened record). Cover is excellent with a couple of small lamination bubbles on front, light right wear on back, and a couple of small inconspicuous tears on back.

Nice stereo original of this scarce 1961 LP by electronic composers Remi Gassman and Oskar Sala, both probably best known for creating the remarkable electronic sound effects for Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Side one is: "Electronics: music for the ballet as produced by the New York City Ballet Company under the direction of George Balanchine." Side two is: "Electronic works created by the Oskar Sala Sound Studio and performed on the trautonium."

This was reissued with a different cover circa 1970, as Westminster Gold WGS-8110.
