STRICTLY GRADED

Notes : a great black music album mainly based on the different sides of blues. Acoustic themes on harmonica such as " WEEK-END DOWNTOWN " or " THE LONESOME VOICE ", on guitar such as " THE STATE OF HARLEM " and also performed by both instruments as the extraordinary " VILLAGE BLUES ", are alternated to groovy rockin' tunes such as " HENDRIX MEMENTO " underlined by a killer electric guitar with distortions, " RIDE ON " and " CAMPUS SIT IN ", two exciting rock-blues which recall the British sound of Cream. Doesn't miss the funk on " BLACK NOT COLOURED ", with a massive rhythm mainly underlined by electric bass and drums; funky sound again on the unusual " BLACK CONGREGATION " characterized by the vocal performance of a chorus. At last how not to mention " THE NEW PHYLOSOPHY " plenty of fine jazz-soul sonorities.   All compositions by Remigio Ducros.
