"Reminiscing...I feel you near...once more you're my love, of yesteryear....

Howdy, folks!  Yes sir, this is your old friend SINGIN' SAM.  Let's just settle back and reminisce a bit, whaddya say, huh?..."

And here's a very enjoyable original RADIO PROGRAM TRANSCRIPTION DISC containing the two complete 15-minute episodes of the syndicated series: "REMINISCIN' WITH SINGIN' SAM".  Sam, of course, was Harry Frankel, one of the biggest stars in the earliest days of network radio.  Frankel produced this series of syndicated quarter hour programs around 1945. 

I don't believe these episodes are in circulation; at least, I couldn't find them in any listings.  If you know differently, please let me know and I'll revise the listing.

Program #161 contains the following songs:

  • "CAROLINA IN THE MORNING"
  • "THE LOVELINESS OF YOU"
  • "IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME"
  • "ON THE BANKS OF THE WABASH"

Program #162 contains the following songs:

  • "HELLO, SWANEE, HELLO"
  • "THE HILLS OF OLD WYOMING"
  • "BABY WON'T YOU PLEASE COME HOME"
  • "THOSE SONGS MY MOTHER USED TO SING"

Sam is accompanied by a chorus on some songs.

This is an original 16" Transcription Sales Co. syndication disc, issued to radio stations and in a protective sleeve. 

The RED VINYL disc is clean and uncracked; the #161 side label is in good condition but the #162 side is badly damaged (see scans).  The recordings are in excellent condition. The disc contains complete openings and closings; commericals were added locally.  

See scans of the labels for both sides of the disc. There are no skips and no scratches.
