VERY RARE TEST PRESSING
Very unique test pressing that features the A-side on both sides of this record. Only 7 exist.
Here is a true collector's item right here. This is a one of a kind test pressing that features side A of the classic album on both sides of this record. One side of this test pressing features a pressing of the A side tracks that sound too fast and the other side features the side A tracks at the normal speed. This appears to be for a reissue pressing of "Stink" as the matrix is different than the original pressing on Twin Tone from years ago. It's unclear exactly when it's from. I got this about a year ago from a collector. This matrix reads "A Side" & "A RE". It seems 2 sets of stampers were being tested to make sure they were correct.
The labels feature the original Twin Tone catalog number written on them: TTR-8228 and seems to be numbered 2 out of 7. It seems logical to conclude that ONLY 7 of these unique test pressings were ever made. This item is a very interesting and unique pressing in the Replacements vinyl discography.
Test pressings are quite rare and only made in small quantities. They are pressed prior to the actual commercial copies and are used for quality testing before the actual pressing is manufactured.
CONDITION: Mint. Looks unplayed.
