Description

REVEREND ROBERT BALLINGER -- Little Black Train -- hard to find, original 1963 U.S. album.  This is the first of two highly sought-after LP's put out in the early 1960's by much-admired Blues-R&B-Gospel singer Rev. Robert Ballinger who performed with an incredibly volcanic Blues-R&B vocal style, accompanied here by legendary musician Willie Dixon and others. Ballinger died sadly in 1965 at the age of 43, leaving behind a very small but astonishing recorded legacy.  Fans of early James Brown, Howlin' Wolf, Lightning Hopkins and other 1950's/early 1960's R&B and Blues artists would definitely dig this.  Killer stuff.   A very hard record to come by -- does not come up for sale often.  Cover:  VG/VG+, ring wear and wear at corners, wear at upper left seam, removable price sticker.  Record:  VG+, several light surface scuffs on Side One, several small bumps/bubbles at very outer edge of vinyl (from original printing defect) before first track begins that do not affect play; overall very clean, on Peacock label, U.S. pressing.
