DETAILS ABOUT GRADING & BACKGROUND ON MY BUY IT NOW AUCTIONS (Please read!)

Hello and welcome to my auction!  This is part of a collection that has remained virtually untouched for years.  The previous owner only bought items he found interesting, so there was very little ‘dross’ in this collection.  Some of his records were Mint (and barely played at all!), and some were played a lot and have lower gradings.  Everything however is extremely interesting – and I have graded EXTREMELY strictly indeed!  So with this in mind - it is very VERY important to understand how my VERY strict grading system works!  I grade EVERYTHING standing on a chair directly under a 150 watt bulb which reveals everything!  Therefore if I grade a record 'VG' - it does NOT mean it is 'covered in scuffing and marks' - it will still be a VERY clean looking record indeed, and often barely played!  For example - if I hold a record under light and see a lovely black sheen, but a few of the VERY lightest paper scuffs, and 2 or 3 VERY light lines - I will still ONLY grade the record VG+.  So whilst you shouldnt expect MINT from my 'VG' records - you should still expect a VERY clean & bright looking record indeed!  And even my records graded only 'Good' or Good+' will be VERY presentable playable examples indeed!  And if I list a record in the condition most LPs seem to be in today (namely covered in general light scuffing - but still plays through absolutely fine with a few crackles & pops) - then I would ONLY grade this record Fair or even Poor+.  So I am very VERY strict on grading indeed - and almost NEVER use an Excellent grading unless the record looks virtually 'factory fresh' under light!  PLEASE ALSO NOTE - as these records have been sitting for many years, and have come direct to auction - so they may also be a little dusty (but NOT dirty!), and may benefit from a clean / dust off by the next owner (if so wished).  I also have no time to play these at all (visual grading only) - but it is VERY easy to spot any sounding marks under light, and I will mention anything that falls out of the grade given!  In short - if you buy one of my records, and expect the grade given you should be very pleasantly surprised indeed!  And in the unlikely event of a problem, any purchase is also covered by a refund including postage. 

I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO PRICE THESE RECORDS TO SELL - AND HAVE NOT SET THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE SLIGHTLY 'HIGH' HOPING THAT BEST OFFERS COME IN AT 'ABOUT THE RIGHT PRICE'....  I WANT TO GET THESE RECORDS SHIFTED QUICKLY - SO WHY NOT MAKE AN OFFER?  BE AWARE THOUGH - THAT SOME OF THESE ITEMS MAY WELL FLY OUT IMMEDIATELY AT THE 'BUY IT NOW' PRICE ALONE (AS THEY ARE PRICED UP VERY CHEAPLY INDEED - AND WELL BELOW PREVIOUS AUCTION PRICES!), SO YOU MAY WELL HAVE TO BE QUICK!  IN SHORT - I HAVE TRIED TO GRADE VERY STRICTLY INDEED - AND PRICE THESE RECORDS TO GO!!!

RARITY:-  Extremely rare LP - and almost never seen now, especially in this condition!  Made especially rare as this is the UK 1ST PRESSING with the LAMINATED cover and not the common U.S. one!   Levon Helm was also one of the original members of 'The Band' which also adds to this LPs desirability!  And this DEFINITELY one LP to buy NOW.  Common U.S. 1st Pressings outnumber this ULTRA RARE UK 1st Pressing by AT LEAST 20 to 1, and in a few years time this guaranteed to be a MASSIVE rarity and hugely collectable!  So get it whilst you can - because pretty soon, people will start to cotton on to exactly how RARE this LP really is!   Also very sought after - as it is features Ronnie Wood (Birds, Faces, Rolling Stones), Levon Helm (The Band), Robbie Robertson (The Band), and Eric Clapton (Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos, etc!).

GRADING:-  VG++ if not better (graded VERY strictly indeed, under a 150 watt bulb!) and is in very VERY nice condition indeed!  It has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, and only some VERY light paper scuffing only visible under light!  Obviously with the vast amount I am listing, I cannot play every record throughout.  However, I did play a few snippets to check, and this record plays with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO jumps, NO sticks, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!  A very VERY decent example indeed, to which I have applied the VERY strictest gradings!!  

INNER:-  ORIGINAL - and in nice order!

COVER:-    VG+ if not better - and is a very VERY nice cover indeed!  The cover has NO edge splits, NO edge wear, NO spinal wear (side words PERFECT!), only VERY slight corner wear, VERY shiny laminate, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), and NO writing!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!  And even the laminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition - with NO yellowing, NO grubbyness, only a couple of TINY traces of laminate lifting along the spinal edge, and NO writing!  You might ask at this point - so why isnt this cover graded higher than VG+?  Well the only TINY details knocking the grading down slightly - are 2 TINY repaired 'nicks' on the opening edge (believe me these are TINY!), and 1 'touched in' indentation mark on the cover front.  As thats it!  A very VERY nice decent indeed - and very VERY strictly graded!
