UK A&M RECORDS (AMLH 64361) FIRST PRESSING (February 1973) OF RICK WAKEMAN'S AMBITIOUS CONCEPT LP "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" - IN LIGHTLY PLAYED CONDITION DELIVERING PRETTY MUCH PERFECT AUDIO REPRODUCTION (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A LOUD VOLUME) WITH A DEEP, RICH, WARM AND DETAILED SOUND - GREAT COPY
AND AS AN ORIGINAL UK PYE PRESSING THE VINYL, WHICH AT FIRST GLANCE APPEARS TO BE BLACK, IS TRANSLUCENT PURPLE WHEN HELD UP TO THE LIGHT (apologies for the poor photo but the camera had to be pointed directly into the light to capture the colour)

COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH PATENT NUMBER AND "MADE IN ENGLAND" TEXT PRINTED IN BLUE

LABELS: Clean, bright, fresh and unmarked labels with three/four light spindle traces - this copy has clearly received little play - NEAR MINT
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen but there are some blemishes which could well be from the original press - these however, have no audio consequence - the playback is superb - EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: Superb sound with crystal clear and detailed reproduction. On careful play at a loud volume it sounds absolutely sensational and there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no loud clicks or pops and barely any surface noise - the run-ins, track divisions and quieter sections play just about as silently as vinyl possibly can and there is no groove-wear and no distortion. Crystal clear, strong, deep and rich sound, beautifully recorded and engineered and graded EXCELLENT+/NEAR MINT for audio
(NOTE: as an original pressing the final note of the music on Side Two plays on (endlessly) into the run-off groove)
SLEEVE: The original gatefold sleeve is clean, fresh and unmarked with crisp, square, unworn edges and spine - all text is clear and bold (it is printed not on the spine itself but on the front by the spine) - there is a little 'bumping' to the corners but otherwise, an extremely well preserved cover - EXCELLENT+
