RICKY NELSON “TEEN TIME” 1958
VERVE MG-V-2083 DEEP GROOVE MONO BLUE LABEL
This is actually a rockabilly compilation of fine artists that ended up centering around the bankable Nelson, thus the great pictures of Ricky and the inserts of Randy Sparks, Jeff Allen, Gary Williams, and Rock Murphy and no picture at all of the great Barney Kessel who does a delightful r&b tune called Honey Rock.
Three tunes by Nelson were all hits, they present a very young TV star expressing teenage romance and white teenagers romance with black R&B (Fat’s Domino’s “I’m Walkin”) . Some of the others are considerably more interesting Rock Murphy’s 2 “Electric Guitar Boogie” is fine for example as is the above mentioned Kessel, also Jeff Allen’s “Last Night”, and Randy Sparks’ “No No Napoleon” that rocks with great pseudo-calypso.
The disc is in very musical shape quiet and musical. There is a scuff on side one and some thin scratches most to not emerge, a light one at the end of Teenager’s Romance (4 or 5 light ticks). Side two is exceptionally clean and quiet no issues at all. The fact that the disc is really not worn makes for a satisfying musicality, the disc plays great. Visually it has excellent shine a little spindle marking and on side one the frame of a tag that was removed (see the pics).
The sleeve is almost mint, no seem splits, little ring wear, a ding on the lower right entry. Color is fine no fade almost no color breaks. The back is like new except for a name stamp as you can see in the pictures.
This is a fine collectible disc, in excellent condition (the sleeve even more so). It will not disappoint.
I am including the original inner sleeve but will ship in a archival MOFI anti-static this disc deserves it.
I ship usps priority 2 day, the US post built the country, it is our most treasured institution we should all support it against efforts to privatize and destroy it.

ABOUT ME AND GRADING
I listen to the entire record if possible before I list (I did not make it through a 5 disc Wagner Der Walkure). I am not one of those sellers who is looking at the disc under a 500 watt bulb worried about how to describe scratches. I am interested letting you know how the disc looks, what the obvious and less obvious marks are but more importantly I am interested, like you, in how the disc sounds. Many discs were printed poorly or played allot and have surface noise that is not visual. To be locked into how many surface scuffs and scratches is have half of the story, and not hear any of it.
I am a fair grader and my system is unforgiving, I use an Ortophon 2 red with an Audio-Technica 1240 (tracking 1.8g), a Marantz pm 6005 and Bowers and Wilkins speakers, little escapes unheard). Before you purchase a record from me I want you to know as close as is possible (listening is a subjective art) what you are getting.
