Description
1977 Ghetto Rockers PRE 1 UK LP 'Warreika Dub'.
This is the original UK first pre-release pressing of Wareika Dub by Rico Rodriguez which contains Dub versions from Rico's 'Man From Wareika' LP and of which supposedly just 50 were pressed.
No track listings on the 'plain white' labels or sleeve and for the latter the album title is hand written in ink in the top corner plus pencilled on the front.
The sleeve itself is of solid card but grubby with some (tea?) stains. It has corner rubs, ringwear and mild mouth wear. So it's a strong cover but blemished and I rate it 5.5 /10 for condition.
The respective labels read: A GHETTO ROCKERS PRE-LP1 WaRRIKa (incorrect spelling) DUB RICO & B GHETTO ROCKERS PRE-LP1 WaRRIKa (incorrect spelling) DUB RICO.
On my scale the flat and bright vinyl weighs in at 125g.
The matrices are: I-1 PRE LP1 A2 EG & I-1 PRE LP1 B1 EG respectively.
The playing surfaces show some scuffs and light hairlines with a pronounced scuff at the start of side A. Therefore I rate the record 5 /10 for its' visual appeal.
On the Linn / Naim hi-fi the disc plays well with the odd click and pop so for aural quality I give it 7.5 /10.
