With Booklet Front Cover


This was a limited pressing, this is copy no. 687 of 1050 The album comes as an ‘interesting’ package. There is a paper booklet "cover" attached to the front with beautiful photos and writing. The back is Polystyrene stamped with RIFI and the Ltd Edition number. I say ‘interesting’ since it is extremely fragile.


Beautiful, beguiling music from the Rif mountains of Morocco field recorded by Iain Adams in the late '60s and released by him, as this private pressing, in 1972.

Iain Adams:

"This record doesn't attempt to reproduce anything other than a microcosm of music from the north of Morocco. The Gnaoua and the mitah players and drummers are musicians who get paid, in cash or kind. The rest of the tracks were recorded when I was lucky enough to be with a family of mountain people near Tangiers. They have few possessions, they cannot read or write, they live on what they raise and grow - when you hear their music, its hardly necessary to add that they play music for pleasure."


Condition  RECORD

The vinyl is pretty excellent with just a few odd scuffs and hairlines but still retains its original shine

Condition LABELS

The Labels are clean and bright on both sides with no scuffs, stickers or writing.  A side label is stamped with Ltd Edition number.

COVER

The front of the cover is a 12 page booklet full of beautiful "hand written" notes with photographs.  The polystyrene rear of the cover has some indentations and is bit grubby, but the stamped printing and Ltd Ed number are quite clear.
The cover is attached by very thin fabric. There is also a similar fabric on the back edge of the booklet but this is only stuck on the tile. This causes no problems and you may not have even have noticed this. Also the centre two inner pages on the booklet has come away.

A fabulous item and as rare as hell.

Postage and Packing
All items are packed in THICK RECYCLED CARD-I do NOT use posting envelopes. This can mean the postage is higher. However you only ever pay the postage-so if I charge you too much-you will be refunded the difference.

Postage outside the UK
All items will be sent INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR which costs an extra £5.70 on top of the postage.
