From 1965 and issued on Dunhill Records DS-50001 in true stereo and believed to be the first ever LP release by the newly-formed Dunhill Records, this project was a launching pad for the L.A wreckin' crew P.F. Sloan, Steve Barri & Larry Knechtel, those guys are the second most heard session musicians on oldies stations behind Motown's Funk Brothers and are the production and songwriting team that eventually contributed to the careers of The Mamas And The Papas, Barry McGuire, Association, Fifth Dimension, Boyce & Hart, Bobby Sherman, Late 60's Tommy Roe, "Troubled Water" Simon & Garfunkel, Partridge Family, America, Albert Hammond, Johnny Rivers, Scott McKenzie, the list is ENDLESS! The Surfing Songbook is essentially a cash-in to the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean surf-skate craze at a time when Brian Wilson and Jan Berry were for the most part abandoning the field. It is notable for some excellent performances, particularly from a very young P.F. Sloan on great reverb-drenched surf guitar, as well as studio legends Hal Blaine and Joe Osborne. Are you ready for more miraculous news? Vinyl is superb near mint in appearance and play performance! Label is near mint with no spindle scuffs and cover is a clean appearance vg+, maybe a bit on the weak side because of noticeable corner damage. Cover also has minor shelf and seam wear. I'm listing this amazing surf artifact at a low value opening bid, incredibly under it's fair market value, and I have no reserve! The album(s) included in this auction have all been professionally cleaned with a VPI HW-17 record cleaning machine (except those that are still sealed) and will be protected with one of my custom 5 mil thick polyethylene covers. I don't mind rational inquiries and questions that are pertinent to my individual auction listings, but please, before contacting me with any question, read my entire item description and my auction related information. I do not respond to any nonsensical e-mails, to include requests for shipping cost (shipping cost provided, just click on calculate), and unethical offers to buy outright and close auction. For domestic buyers I accept Paypal, Postal Money Orders are inexpensive for you and very ideal for me, money order, or personal check (please allow 12 days for clearing on first time check). Cash can only be accepted for COD (cash on delivery) or for in person transactions. All foreign payments must be in US funds. COMBINED SHIPPING - MULTIPLE BIDS POLICY - PLEASE READ

Yes, I am willing to combine wins to save you shipping cost and I always look forward to multiple bidding, most of my regular customers bid on multiple items and combine. I ask all who plan on combining wins to abide by my multiple bid policy. Please, if you win item and are considering multiple auction bids, always let me know. You cannot withhold payment for initial wins beyond 14 days or until you have decided to finish bidding. Payments must still be made for each item in a timely manner, to include adjusted extra postage cost on each updated invoice and all multiple holds cannot exceed 30 days. I will always provide updated invoice after each win and final invoice after 30 day bidding period. Please, do not ask me to hold unpaid items from previous weeks. Unfortunately I have experienced far too many problems with buyers who want to delay payment until they win a certain number or albums. Many continue bidding on new items and are late with or never make payment on items they have already won...sorry, but I will no longer reserve any items for combined shipping if not paid within 14 days. I recommend multiple bidders make each payment through payal so we can keep accurate accounting of your combined purchases. You cannot ask me to hold combined shipping beyond 30 days or until you have a certain number of records unless you are an establish customer and have made arrangements with me. Multiple bidders who do not comply with my combined shipping policy will be blocked from future bids and will received non payment strikes. If you have private feedback, don't bid, I will block members and not accept bids from anyone who has a private feedback listing.

SHIPPING COSTS

US Postal rates increased significantly on January 8, 2006 for both domestic and overseas parcels. The increase for overseas Parcel Post does include automatic free insurance coverage for loss or damage. Coverage is only for the amount indicated on customs form and has a maximum up to approximately $80.00 US, depending upon destination. Air or Economy Surface Letter Post (under 4 lbs) cannot be insured.

DOMESTIC: Under one pound is $3.00 for Media Mail or $5.50 for Priority Mail (both include delivery confirmation). Minimum charge helps defer some of my cost for mailers and packing supplies. Over one pound will be determined by weight and USPS postal zone. I will always try to ship bulk orders the least expensive option, either Media Mail or Parcel Post, unless Priority Mail is requested. I include delivery confirmation with each order, but please, understand delivery confirmation is not a tracking service. It is intended for the benefit of the sender, not the recipient..
OVERSEAS: Charge will be determined by weight and country. I ship USPS Air Letter and Parcel Post or Economy Surface. Most single albums properly boxed will cost between $11.35 & $14.00 for Air Letter Post to most overseas destinations. I am not responsible for any loss or damage on uninsured parcels. Registered mail is available for Air Letter Post ONLY and cost $7.50.

All records are professionally packaged and shipped in my custom designed heavy duty cardboard mailers with stiff cardboard flats. You will not find a better quality LP mailer! Larger shipments are all shipped in new boxes designed to accomodate records and packaging.

RECORD GRADING LP'S
I place emphasis on play grade, maintain the highest professional standards, do spot check play grading on all individual auction items and always provide an accurate visual grade and label appearance. I play grade on a quality system with a high end cartridge in order to maintain a strict and undisguised play grade. I always keep my grading simple and fair and will not subject my customers to a proliferation of meaningless grades. If a record plays between two grades I always apply the lesser grade, I don't create a grade in an attempt to articulate a borderline evaluation.
nm....near mint, superb play quality with little to no signs of visual wear and plays with little to no extraneous noise. I have learned from over 30 years of experience that "mint" is too strong a grade for a used record evaluation. The only records that qualify for a "mint" grade on my listings are my new unplayed and unhandled store stock items.
vg+...very good plus, excellent play quality with minor use and little to no overall visual wear. Any minor scuffs, light surface scratches, or blemishes do not affect play and play grade may have some very minor extraneous area noise.
vg....very good, very playable, probably with some extraneous surface noise. A slightly mishandled or well used record. May have visual scratches or blemish. I generally do not auction vg albums unless they are exceptional pieces and highly sought after items.

I use standard record grading abbreviations and include cover grade within each description. I open, clean and inspect all suspect sealed older albums.

Retail music is my full time occupation. Your satisfaction is important to me. I guarantee everything I sell and will be cooperative and understanding towards any of my valued customers who genuinely feel I may have not maintained my grading standards, have overlooked a flaw or manufacturing defect, or have mistakenly misrepresented an item. Postage for a returned item is your responsibility and returned item must be received in same condition as originally shipped.
