Description
THIS WEEK, I'm offering a selection of TWELVE-INCH 78s, having neglected them in months past. I've bought all-new packing materials in which to send them, anticipating the mad rush. Don't you DARE glaze over!! Collectors have this weird "Idee Fix-ee" that 12" records are boring! These all are anything BUT! Each one deserves a place on your precious shelves!

RKO Studios pulled out all the stops for "RIO RITA," the 1929 Ziegfeld musical, which ended up a big hit for both Ziegfeld AND RKO. This record, by THE COLONIAL CLUB ORCHESTRA and a gang of vocalists, recreates a generous amount of the movie score.
A wonderful record, featuring: "Rio Rita" - "If You're in Love, You'll Waltz," "Sweetheart, We Need Each Other," "The Kinkajou," "You're Always in my Arms," and "Following the Sun Around." None of these songs became standards, but they all were popular in 1929!
This original 1929 12" Brunswick 20094 is in sturdy EE- condition.
PHOTOS: 1 and 2: Original "RIO RITA" posters; 3: Wheeler and Woolsey cutting up in "RIO RITA," with a stern Señorita!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
An Unsolicited Testimonial!: "Superbatone is one of the coolest people on eBay - seriously. An excellent source for music, knowledge, and whimsy, and an asset to the community who cares about music and its preservation. It goes without saying that he is an expert in all facets surrounding 78’s and their content."
