THE RISING SONS "MYSTERY TRAIN"/I'LL WAIT FOR YOU IMPOSSIBLY RARE ORIGINAL ACETATE PRESSING GARAGE 45 RPM (1966) THIS RECORD WAS NEVER RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC !!!
No one knew quite what to make of this L.A. band in the mid-'60s, who unbelievably included Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, Kevin Kelley (later in the Byrds), and even Ed Cassidy (briefly) in the same lineup. Formed in 1964 in Los Angeles, California, they only managed one single, the brilliant "Candy Man" on Columbia before breaking up in 1966, but they also got to lay down an album's worth of unreleased material overseen by producer Terry melcher of Byrds fame, which was finally issued over 25 years later. (1992). The Rising Sons brought a unique modern rural twist to the roots of the Delta. But not just that, they were also renowned for their live performances, and were the trail blazers for what was to follow with American music. Their bluesy, folksy, garage country rock sort of sound anticipated future recordings by groups like Moby Grape, Buffalo Springfield, the Grateful Dead, and even the country-rock Byrds.
In 1966, the band disbanded.
Vinyl: Strong VG to VG+ "Mystery Train" plays very well. No cracks or deep scratches that would affect play. No skips, pops, or clicks heard..only some very light surface crackle, nothing that takes away from the integrity of this famous classic song.
Good luck finding this anywhere!
