Description

This 10” vinyl picture disc of songs sung by Robert Johnson, iconic American blues musician, is one of a limited edition (1,000 copies) reissued in 2000. A color portrait of Johnson, lovingly rendered by R. Crumb, appears on one side. In the tradition of old 78 RPM records, the paper sleeve features an illustration created by Crumb for the Paris Jazz Corner Series, which was devoted to the popular music of the 20th century. Side 1 features "Sweet Home Chicago," "Come On in My Kitchen," and "Crossroad Blues" (November 1936, Chicago). Side 2 comprises "I'm a Steady Rollin’ Man," "Me and the Devil Blues," and "Love in Vain Blues" (June 1937, Dallas).


Although the record is the same size as a 78 RPM, it is meant to be played at 45 RPM. It is protected in a plastic sleeve and is in like-new condition.
