Description
Up for auction is Columbia Masterworks Set 149, five 12-inch discs, blue shellac pressings, circa 1932 - 1936.
Robert Kajanus and Symphony Orchestra play:
Symphony No. 2 in D Major by Sibelius (complete on 9 sides).
filler side is Intermezzo from 'Karelia Suite' by Sibelius.
Condition: discs are in superior E+ or better condition. The album folder is worn (especially the spine), but still serviceable. The booklet of notes is missing.
Grading scale: N, E, VG, G (+ or - signs will modify the basic grade for slightly better or worse).
Shipping: shellac 78s are placed between squares of cardboard, bound with tape, then floated in styrofoam in the box. This method of packing has proved extremely effective over the years for shipping fragile shellac 78s.
