Description
Up for auction is one of the ~1000 limited edition copies of Robert Pollard's first release on the Fading Captain Series, Kid Marine. According to the GBV online database, there were 500 pressed and hand-numbered, and approximately another 500 pressed and not hand-numbered. This is one of the non-hand-numbered pressings.
The record contains the following information pressed around the label: "Luna - 14" and "NR - 20756".
I use the Goldmine's Grading standards to grade my records, and I'm conservative about it, meaning I'll tend to give the record less credit than it deserves, just to be on the safe side. If you want to brush up on the Goldmine Standards you can find them here: Goldmine Standards.
Jacket: VG+ largely due to a 2.5 inch split section on the top of the jacket (see pic below). Otherwise all the other edges and surfaces look very much NM. There is also a sticker on the front cover which I think adds a unique value to this Kid Marine because it clearly marks it as a Kid Marine that was destined for Japan.
Vinyl: VG+ largely due to a very, very few, light scuffs. I was hard-pressed to find any actual scratches on either side of this record, but there are a couple very light ones that have almost zero depth to them. It's obvious the record has been taken good care of and got a few listens.
The picture sleeve that the record rests in is in great condition. 2 things to note are a tiny (3mm) rip at the top of the picture sleeve and also some general, light folds in the paper here and there...these aren't bad enough to be called creases, but instead it's more like the paper got flexed in a couple areas and still bares some leftover soft lines.
