JOHNNY COME AND GET ME / Where The Blue Of the Night Meets The Gold Of The Day - (Dot 16599) Out of Los Angeles, this dreamy 1964 release was pulled from Robin Ward's ultra rare LP entitled, 'Wonderful Summer' (where every track is a musical jewel), and is the fourth of five discs she would issue on the Dot label. Miss Ward's real name was Jackie Ward and she was a busy session singer in Los Angeles at the time and continued to be on up into the 1970's. All of Miss Ward's Dot recordings were recorded at Hollywood's GOLD STAR STUDIO. Perry Botkin Jr. and George Tipton's arrangements on all of them were sprinkled with many of the jingle-jangly, clickety-clackety Phil Spector musical elements, occasional sound effects and a effective use of Gold Star's echo chamber. This pairing is no exception. The flip is no throw away either and is just as wonderful as the A-side. The labels are free of marks with the exception of the A-side label which has a red 'X' and a minor storage scuff. The vinyl is a beautiful, clean and shiny, VG+.
