OK, folks, check this out!

This is an original promo album cut for the 1950's movie

ROCK, ROCK, ROCK

This recording is a bit of a mystery to rock fans, collectors and even the "experts!" You can find it listed NOWHERE - not books on albums, not in collections...NO...where.

But I can guarantee that this is NOT a bootleg, or anything else. It is guaranteed 100% original. I got this recording from a family friend who recently moved to a retirement community and was clearing out his house. He was a long-time disc jockey and radio personality in Boston and had a pretty big collection of records, many of them promos.

This record is the soundtrack for the movie, Rock, Rock, Rock and features the first time that the fabulous CHUCK BERRY appears on a record. Also on the album are Frankie Lymon and the Teen-Agers, Laverne Baker, Jimmy Cavallo and his House Rockers, The Three Chuckles, Connie Francis, Cirino and the Bow Ties, The Flamingos, The Moonglows, the Johnny Burnette Trio and Alan Freed's 18 Piece Rock n' Roll Band. The movie also featured the film debut of the lovely Tuesday Weld.

Now a few tidbits that I have been able to get from online searching: The bottom left says "a dca release" which is a distributor that appears pretty much only in the 1950s and distributed music and film (Distributors Corporation of America). The record itself has the words "Roost side 1" on the first side and "Roost Side 2" on the reverse (along with some lines that are hard to decipher) that are not imprinted but scratched by hand near the recored's label. Roost was a label in the 50's that was taken over about 1958. The actual movie soundtrack was released by "Chess Records" after the movie's release in 1956. This promo album was released in 1955. There are 20 tracks on the album. There is no album number or date printed on the record's label. The back of the album cover is completely blank. Cover and record state "Disc Jockey Sample - Not For Sale".

Now as to condition. I would have to say that this is about as near mint as you are probably going to find. I'm no expert, but this abum is super shiny with no scratches or markings - only some extremely light surface wear (not enough to even make a fuss about and certainly nothing that will detract from clean sound when playing). It is super clean (see pix).The guy I got it from kept his collection in superb shape and most of his records have not seen the light of day in decades. The album cover is is clean with only a bend in the lower right corner and some very light age toning as the cover stock is not glossy or high grade stock - it was a promo so they didn't spend the bucks (again, see pix).

This is not only a super collectible, but an extremely (and I stress extremely) RARE recording. I've only seen two others, one here on ebay, and they were in nowhere near as good shape as this. If you don't believe me go ahead and try to find one. Then try to find one in NM condition!
