Original United States pressing of this hard to find 45. This is not a re-issue, but a bona-fide original with “Sheldon” in the dead wax on Side One. The late Ray Scott wrote “Flying Saucer Rock And Roll” in 1956, which was recorded for Sun Records by Billy Lee Riley. Ray Scott was the founder of the RCT Label, and this was among the four Memphis labels he recorded for (the other three being Erwin, Satellite, and Stomper Time).
VINYL: Visibly the record is clean and looks like a strong VG+ with one surface scratch in the opening dead wax on Side A that goes right up to the first groove. We listened and made sure this does not affect the beginning of the song, and the scratch itself cannot be heard. The record plays strong with some surface noise. We also noticed that there are two faint hairline cracks, originating on the outer edge. One measures about 1/4 inch, the other about 1/2 inch. These are so light we didn’t even notice them until our 4th look at the record. These in no way affect play.
