Roger Taylor : Electric Fire A1/B1 (1st Press Orange Vinyl LP)

This now rare album was only pressed in limited numbers and is highly collectable today.  Pressed on vibrant orange vinyl there cannot be many that are immaculate as this, it has been remarkably well preserved and was never played prior to my play testing.  The cover is immaculate as is the lyric inner.  So rarely seen like this today!

Visual grading

This visually stunning vinyl remains in perfect condition with no hairlines, scratches or markings.  You could not wish to see a cleaner, more impressive version of this highly sought after LP.  There is no spindle wear at all and I have been reliably informed by the previous owner that it has never been played and the quality of the audio confirms that!  I don't think it has hardly ever been removed from its inner sleeve because, as I say, I cannot even detect a single hairline.  This is a stunning example of this now 20 year old album.

Play grading  

As you would expect from an unplayed vinyl the sound quality is of a fantastic standard and indeed 'Pressure On' begins S1 with Mint audio.  There is no interference at all, not even a mega quiet dust tick!  'A Nation Of Haircuts' is of the same breathtaking quality accept for one click caused during manufacture in my opinion as there is no mark on the vinyl.  'Believe In Yourself' is 100% Mint from start to finish which is very impressive when you consider how quiet this track is.  The remaining tracks are of the same standard also.  The clarity and definition is stunning from the first groove to the last and it is patently obvious this vinyl has never been played before.  Audio does not get better than this!  And the final track 'No More Fun' is a classic example of that.  It 'rocks out' in superb style with great power and no distortion.  So aside from that one click this is pure 'as new' audio.  It definitely has the wow factor!

'The Whisperers' on S2 has a minimal amount of static on the intro and then plays with wonderful audio to the end with no interference of any kind.  'Is It Me?' is also faultless and is Mint in every way.  In fact there is no need to describe each track as the clarity and sonic quality on all is of the highest calibre possible.  The super quiet intro on 'Working Class Hero' is an excellent example of this.  It is so clean and is practically 'as new', just a couple of mega light dust ticks which I only hear because I'm so close to the speakers!  'London Town - C'mon Down' ends the album in supreme style and again has no 'background'.  There's a lot 'going on' with this track and yet there is no 'muddiness' to the sound and it plays as well as the day when it was first released back in '98.  No 'background' on the fade out either!

In summary this is a final upgrade archive pressing of this now rare album.  Getting harder to find today, and especially in this condition, this will impress any fan.  The clarity of sound is astounding and that is what you get with a well preserved vinyl that has never been played before.  There is complete silence in the dead wax between tracks and the one click on S1 is the only obvious interference.  This is why we listen to vinyl!  You just don't get the same level of depth and warmth on any other medium.  The glossy cover is also 'as new' as is the lyric inner.  Overall a fantastic 'package' that will not disappoint.

The Cover

This glossy cover is one of the most impressive you are ever likely to see, it is in absolutely superb condition!  I am sure many sellers would grade this as Mint and I'm sure when this album was released in '98 there were many in the racks that didn't look as good as this one!  The only flaws are one tiny rub mark on the top edge and a mega small white mark on the front cover near the bottom right corner.  They are so minor as to be hardly worth a mention really!  Apart from that this cover is 'as new' and so rarely turn up in this condition today and especially at this starting price!

The Lyric inner

The lyric inner also has the same glossy look to it and is still in perfect shape.  There is no wear - no splits and no corner rubs.  Stunning!

The labels

They have no marking or writing and no spindle wear either.  As Mint as the day when first released.
