GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : quattro i brani composti e diretti da Roland Kovac. Nelle due versioni di "Acapulco" (a1 - b6) il musicista Austriaco si avvale della partecipazione del trombettista jazz Jimmy Duechar di origine Scozzese. I suoi due lunghi assoli evocano un'atmosfera malinconica tramite sonorità che uniscono il folk Latino Americano al blues. "Dabada-Ba" (a4), dal ritmo veloce, è caratterizzata da particolari suoni emessi dal riff del basso in combinazione con le percussioni e le sincopature della sezione fiati, "Ocean Love" (b2) è un tema romantico ben guidato dalla chitarra elettrica. Paul Nero partecipa alla colonna sonora con tre composizioni. "Soul Reaction" (a5) eccitante rhythm & blues strumentale con magnifiche improvvisazioni del sassofono, "Hey Jimmy" (b4), adattamento di "Hey Joe" in omaggio a Hendrix, contiene un grande assolo di sax con il supporto di basso e batteria. "Labamba/Indiano/Wade in The Water" (b5) è un viaggio sonoro di sassofono e percussioni fra il vivace ritmo Messicano, la tradizione indigena e l'antico spiritual. La colonna sonora include anche canzoni (3) e brani strumentali (2) non originali di già affermati artisti come Cher, The Ventures, Johnny Rivers. Meno noto il cantante Inglese Lee Shane qui impegnato in una memorabile interpretazione di "I Don't Mind" (b3) composta e originalmente interpretata da James Brown, inserita fra l'altro dai Who nel loro primo album "My Generation".

Notes : four  tracks are composed and conducted by Roland Kovac. In the two versions of "Acapulco" (a1 - b6) the Austrian musician relies on the performances of the Scottish jazz trumpeter Jimmy Duechar. His two long solos evoke a melancholic atmosphere through sonorities combining Latin American music to blues. "Dabada-Ba" (a4) from fast rhythm is characterized by particular sounds emitted from the interlace of bass riff with percussion and syncopations of brass section, "Ocean Love" (b2) is a romantic theme well led by the electric guitar. Paul Nero takes part in the soundtrack with three compositions. "Soul Reaction" (a5) exciting instrumental rhythm & blues with beautiful sax improvisations, "Hey Jimmy"(b4), an adaptation of "Hey Joe" in tribute to Hendrix, features a great sax solo with the support of bass and drums. "Labamba/Indian/Wade In The Water" (b5) is a musical journey of sax and percussion among the Mexican lively rhythm, indigenous folk and an old spiritual. The soundtrack also includes non-original songs (3) and instrumentals (2) of well-known artists such as Cher, The Ventures and Johnny Rivers. Less well known English singer Shane Lee here engaged in a memorable performance of "I Don't Mind" (b3) originally composed and performed by James Brown, included inter alia, by Who in their first album "My Generation".
