Please be aware that I VISUALLY GRADE my records as I do not have access to a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click, skip and noise free (although any marks that may cause such problems will be highlighted in the description).
All photos are of the actual item on sale. I do not use stock or 'borrowed' images.
THE ROLLING STONES - No. 2
Original UK Decca Press with Censored / Pasteover Sleeve!
On offer here is an original UK Decca pressing of the Rolling Stones' followup album titled No. 2. This particular copy has the censored sleeve, where a paste-over slick has been adhered over the original back to remove a part of the write up that caused offence.
The line in question is "If you don’t have the bread, see that blind man knock him on the head, steel his wallet and low and behold you have loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!" - basically advising people to mug a blind man and steal his money if you can't afford to buy the record. Obviously this caused offence so Decca, rather than destory sleeves that had already been printed up, simply adhered an edited back slick over the original and sent them out like that.
Back in the day only a limited number of these sleeves were pasted over and today they're very hard to find. Here's a chance to add one to your Rolling Stones vinyl collection!

Title No. 2 Group The Rolling Stones Format Mono Year of Release 1965 Catalogue Number LK 4661 Label Red mono Decca with unboxed logo and grooved label. Tax Code on Disc KT Sleeve Manufacturer - Side 1 Matrix Number XARL-6619-1A Side 2 Matrix Number XARL-6620-2A Side 1 Stampers 1 / CU Side 2 Stampers 1 / - Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in VG+ condition. The sleeve as a whole is looking alright with just your usual near-50 years of light, general handling and wear and tear on it. The front is clean with just a little light laminate rubbing and a slight bubbling up at the top left next to Mick. Lovely dark, rich colour to the photo. Seams are a little rubbed in places but have not split. The back has yellowed slightly with a few spots of discolouration but, overall, looking pretty decent. A nice example of this rare sleeve! Inner Sleeve Condition - Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in VG+ condition. Has a really nice shine to it and has some light scuffing and a few light surface marks here and there. Nothing at all serious, though. Looking pretty decent! Label Condition The labels are in VG+ condition. Both labels are clean but do have quite a lot of spindlemarks as you can see in the photos below. A previous owner was really in a hurry to turn their Stones' vinyl over!
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.price rating
