ROLLING STONES 1ST LP 1964 DECCA MONO LK 4605 (6272 1A Side 1 & 6272 5A Side 2)
This is the 2nd pressing with the 4.06 version of Tell Me, listed as ‘Tell Me’. In the 40 years or collecting and 25 years of dealing in vinyl, this is the best copy of this I’ve seen. The rear of the sleeve is grubby, it must be said, though this is in the form of mild staining rather than dirt.
Sleeve Condition: Anyone familiar with original copies of this first ‘Stones album will know the state of the thin, lightly laminated sleeves. The laminate lifts, the card creases and crumples and the whole sleeve is almost always, really pretty shabby. This really is the exception. There is just the merest ringwear, and a couple of tiny crinkles in the laminate. Otherwise it’s flat with a fully legible spine with no rubbing, no bent corners, no writing or marking and is a genuine, (apart from the staining to the rear) EX+ sleeve.
Record Condition: The record is in even better condition. In fact, there is no other way to describe this than Near Mint. There are centring marks and so certainly the record has been played but you really wouldn’t know it to look at the vinyl. I’ve seen dozens of these, most almost destroyed through careless use and poor equipment. Many have been perfectly playable but in very used condition. Finding one in better condition than this would be well nigh impossible. A simply lovely, collectors’ condition example.
