"1ST LP WITH THE WITHDRAWN MONA COVER"

THIS IS QUITE SIMPLY A STUNNING VERSION OF THIS RARE LANDMARK LP!

The Rolling Stones's first LP became a very complicated UK issue, with the rare 1st pressing needing an instant re-pressing. The shorter Demo version of "Tell Me" was mistakenly used, but even after the 2nd pressing there was a song copyright problem over "Mona", requiring a further pressing with the track amended to ''I Need You Baby'' and also a complete re-printing job of the cover was needed. This meant the end maitrix numbers on the LP that started at "-1A / -1A", had a constant rise in the sequence. All this was happening in the first few weeks of issue, these mistakes were compounded by the way the LP's sales took off, leaving Decca struggling to cope with the demand for the album. They immediately withdrew the unsold covers and LP's, so the few sold "Mona" covers are very rare.
Allowing for the fact this was 48 years ago, clearly not many "Mona" covers have survived in a presentable condition.
This is a real beauty, and so is the vinyl!

MATRIX NUMBERS: XARL 6271 - 1A / XARL 6272 - 4A
The LP has probably been played only a handful of times as there is only the faintest of spindle marks and indicate probably 9/10 plays at most.
Labels both pristine with untarnished very bright silver printing and light spindle marks as stated above. 
RECORD IS SEVERELY GRADED EXCELLENT+++/NEAR MINT CONDITION

RARE ORIGINAL FLIPBACK LAMINATED COVER
WITH THE WITHDRAWN ''Mona'' SONG CREDIT ammended to ''I Need You Baby'' on all later issues.
The front's thick deluxe laminate is deeply glossy and totally undulled with richly vivid unfaded colours on the Stones moody looking photo.
Front has the expected impression from the heavyweight record with a few small related laminate crinkles which have formed naturally and not related to wear other than just a few handling signs.

Spine has pinched tips as called for with unworn laminate over perfectly clear titles.
Back panel clean and unmarked with just one brown mark on left edge which is a little more pronounced than appears on the picture of the back cover.
Corners fine other than to the bottom right which has just the slightest of wear.
Top & bottom edges have unscuffed laminate and the two opening edges are in almost perfect condition.

Has printed ''Made in England'' bottom left to sleeve & further to the left 12/04 indicating printed December 1964.

Originally purchased from a highly respected Ebay Seller and have used the same pictures from that purchase since I have never played it.

An absolutely brilliant copy of this Classic LP and unbeatable in this condition!

There are no scribbles, price stickers or shop stamps anywhere to be found on this LP, Cover or Inner.
