**1st press cover**
designed by Andy Warhol
It is very rare for this 1st press cover so delicate in places, especially around the working zip to be in such crisp and excellent condition as this one.
It comes complete and has it's original **1st press** insert, the side with the photo of the group can be seen in the 1st picture, the other side with the track listing, credits and the Sticky Fingers red lips logo can be seen in the 3rd picture, just one small corner crease at the tip of one of the corners but otherwise it is near perfection and "Printed in England by Richard Davis Ltd."
The rear of the cover has a few tiny indentations where it was stored against other albums' zips, there is very little storage wear to it and the top opening edges are firm and crisp as are the other edges and corners and there are just a few light creases to the front.
The cover has two compartments the first one having the Andy Warhol picture on the inside, the cover was conceived and designed by Warhol.
The **1st press** vinyl playing surface looks great with a full glossy shine and just has a few very light surface marks on the playing area and certainly nothing feelable, it plays superbly well , there is negligible surface noise and with just a few small light spindle traces on the custom yellow Rolling Stones labels, it has not been played very much at all and like the cover and the insert it has been well looked after. The vinyl has early 1st press matrices COC 59100-A3 and COC 59100-B5 and also has 'T.M.L. Rolling Stones Records' etched into the run off on side 1, cosmetically there is a flaw, two small specks of white vinyl which do not make any sound, I once thought it was flecks of white paint but I now know it to be white vinyl and I reiterate it does not effect sound quality in any way and they are on the border of the run off / dead wax, nothing can be heard from it as the stylus reaches the dead wax and finishes playing.
The labels are close to mint and unusually and most noticably have two grooves, a deep outer groove 3/4 of an inch from the outer edge and an inner groove 1/2 an inch from the spindle hole.
