Description
This is the Rolling Stones second album. It is Decca MONO LK4661. The numbers XARL-6619-1A and XARL-6620-2A are engraved in the inner vinyl on sides 1 and 2 respectively. I purchased the album new shortly after its release and have endeavoured to look after it well.
The record has a few surface marks which can be seen if held at an angle with a light shining on it. It plays very well with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years.
The front cover is in excellent condition with a clearly legible spine and whilst there are no splits in the lamination, there are a couple of places where it has lifted very, very slightly, particularly at the top by Charlie Watts' head where the record presses against the sleeve due to its thickness.
The album comes with its original inner sleeve which has no splits or tears.
The front cover photograph is a posed portrait by David Bailey and on the back cover is a nonsense biography by Andrew Oldham. The words about a blind man were in bad taste and I understand Decca bowed under pressure and withdrew the offending sleeve later on.
