The Rolling Stones : Beggars Banquet
This 1K/1K stereo pressing is in superb condition and I have never seen or heard better. With the boxed blue Decca label the vinyl is visually stunning and plays with superb sound. The gatefold is also in near pristine condition.

Visual grading
Quite simply this vinyl is 'as new'. I have never seen a more impressive 1K/1K pressing. There are no hairlines, no scratches and no marks. It is visually stunning to say the least and it retains the most beautiful glossy sheen I have ever seen on this vinyl. There is not a great deal of spindle wear and that in part accounts for the incredible audio. It has been so carefully handled down the years and the run out grooves are also spotlessly clean. What a fantastic find!
Play grading
There is no lead in static on S1 at all and 'Sympathy For The Devil' then plays with the most immaculate, stunning quality I have heard on a boxed Decca label. The playback is Mint with no distortion and no interference on the long fade out either. Audio does not get better than this! 'No Expectations' continues this breathtaking standard with impeccable sound once more. I prefer not to grade as Mint as the album is not sealed but the clarity and depth here is of a high quality vinyl pressed only yesterday! The remaining three tracks play with the same 'high end' audio. I cannot impress enough just how well this side plays, 100% stunning! An example of the amazing clarity is on 'Parachute Woman' where the fade out has no 'background' whatsoever. There is no static or crackle and of course no clicks or pops either. The final two tracks do play with a little distortion but as any Stones fan will know this is commonplace on this LP. The extended fade out on 'Jig-Saw Puzzle' is again of the highest standard possible.
'Street Fighting Man' plays with incredible dynamic power and the bass is so strong in the mix. A fantastic version the likes of which I have rarely heard. 100% totally Mint again! As for the quiet intro on 'Prodigal Son', well it just has to be heard to be believed! It is another stunning example of the amazing clarity on this record and the rest of the track plays in exactly the same way. The remaining tracks are equal to this standard also. 'Stray Cat Blues' has a little distortion on the top end but again this is always the case on this track. 'Factory Girl' is Mint from beginning to end and 'Salt Of The Earth' ends the album in sublime style with a little distortion on the top end again but apart from that it could not play any more cleanly and again there is no interference on yet another stunning fade out.
In summary this stunning vinyl is a final upgrade archive pressing without question. With no 'background' of any kind and complete silence between every track the clarity and power of the audio could not be any better. The distortion issue is due to the record being pressed on thinner vinyl than usual at this time but in my opinion this does not detract from the stunning visual and audio quality of this album. It is rare to find a 1K/1K pressing in this condition and together with a superb gatefold this will add to any collection.
The Gatefold
The laminated is 'Robert Stace' gatefold is in stunning condition and the edges and spine looks 'as new' with no rubbing at all. It is difficult to find a negative! One tiny spot in the front cover?! There are a couple of mega small creases next to the spine on either side and a mega small amount rubbing on the bottom right corners. Both the front and back cover are so clean and the inside is immaculate and even the opening edge has no handling wear either. This is the best example of this cover I have ever seen and as anyone knows they are notoriously difficult to keep clean!
Inner sleeve
The original Decca poly-lined sleeve has no splits and only a little creasing. The titles have been written on one side in pencil so could easily be removed.
The labels
The labels have only a little spindle wear and are incredibly clean with no marking or writing. The run out grooves are also in perfect condition.
