The Rolling Stones : Beggars Banquet
This 1K/1K stereo pressing is in superb condition and I have never seen or heard better. With the boxed blue Decca label the vinyl is visually stunning and plays with superlative audio. The gatefold also remains in wonderful condition also.

Visual grading
This vinyl is visually stunning and has only been played a handful of times. It quite honestly looks as new, the glossy sheen it still retains is just pristine and looks as new. I cannot detect any hairlines and there are certainly no scratches. There is only a very small amount of spindle wear on S1 and even less on S2 so it obviously hasn't been played a great deal and that is borne out in the stunning audio as detailed below. A wonderful 3K/3K stereo press that cannot be beaten!
Play grading
With no obvious lead in static on S1 'Sympathy For The Devil' then plays with stunning quality and no interference at all. The playback was of the highest standard possible throughout and without any distortion or 'background' on the quiet intro and fade out. A wonderful start to this classic album. With complete silence in the dead wax 'No Expectations' then plays to the same breathtaking standard. I prefer not to grade as Mint as the LP isn't sealed but in all honesty the clarity and depth here is of a vinyl pressed only yesterday! The quiet intro is just stunning, no clicks or pops not even a dust tick and quality prevails through to the end. The remaining three tracks play to the same immaculate standard with perhaps a little distortion on the final two tracks but this is generally the case I find. An indication of the amazing clarity is on the 'Parachute Woman' fade out where there is no 'background' to be heard whatsoever. This side plays so cleanly without any static or crackle and the only pop is literally at the end of the fade out on 'Jig-Saw Puzzle' so is most definitely not intrusive.
'Street Fighting Man' has a real dynamic sound here and the bass plays so strong in the mix. A fantastic start to S2 with no interference again. The quiet intro on 'Prodigal Son' just has to be heard to be believed! It's another stunning example of the amazing clarity on this record. As per the majority of this record this track grades as Mint- with no 'background' at all. 'Stray Cat Blues' continues this fine quality but with some distortion on the top end that you always find with this track. It isn't intrusive and it still plays with great power and depth. 'Factory Girl' impresses with superlative audio once more and 'Salt Of The Earth' ends the album in sublime style with a little distortion on the top end again but aside from that it plays so cleanly and without any interference and yet another stunning fade out.
In summary this stunning album is a final upgrade archive pressing without question. With only one pop (right at the end of S1) it would be nigh on impossible to find a better early stereo pressing than this. Yes a little distortion here and there but the clarity overall is of a 'high end' standard and will disappoint any 'Stones' collector. This 3K/3K pressing has not been played very much at all and with a very clean gatefold also this would be a great addition to any collection.
Gatefold cover
The 'Robert Stace' gatefold has only minor shelf wear and remains in excellent condition for its age. The edges have some light rubbing but nothing major and the spine has been well preserved and remains 100% legible. There is just a little wear/creasing on the bottom corner. The opening edges have hardly any handling wear either. The front cover is extremely clean with no marking and only a couple of minor creases and the back cover has only some discolouration running down next to the spine. The inside of the gatefold is beautifully clean with no wear at all. This is a lovely example of this iconic gatefold and as anyone knows they are notoriously difficult to keep clean!
Inner sleeve
The original Decca poly-lined sleeve has no splits and only a little creasing. A lovely example.
The labels
The labels have only a minimum amount of spindle wear and are incredibly clean with no marking or writing. The run out grooves are also spotlessly clean.
