Description
THIS IS THE FIRST OR SECOND PRESSING OF THE ROLLING STONES 1968 LP “BEGGAR’S BANQUET” ON THE UK DECCA STEREO BLUE LABEL AND IS SERIOUSLY RARE IN THIS CONDITION! THE VINYL IS IN MINT CONDITION! THE COVER IS IN CLOSE TO MINT CONDITION!! DONT MISS THIS VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY!
The Catalogue Number is SKL 4955 on the ORIGINAL BLUE DECCA label (see picture) and is a stereo UK first or second pressing with matrix numbers XZAL-8476-2K and XZAL-8477-1K.
The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see picture) with NO wear, NO writing, and ONLY THE VERY VERY LIGHTEST spindle marks. I BOUGHT THIS RECORD SHORTLY AFTER IT CAME OUT AND IT HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record sounds as STUNNING as the visual! It plays with CRYSTAL CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND, NO sticking, NO groovewear, NO jumps, and NO crackle! The record plays SUPERBLY with ZERO DISTORTION! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!
The Garrard and Lofthouse GATEFOLD cover is in CLOSE TO MINT condition (see picture)! It has NO wear to the spine apart from a hairpin thin 2cm vertical line of wear halfway down the spine.
There are 2 horizontal LIGHT 1cm creases and a 0.5cm light crease from the spine edge of the front cover. There is 5cm of MODERATE edgewear to the bottom opening edge of the front cover. The laminate is SLIGHTLY discoloured at the EXTREME right edge of the front cover. Apart from that, the opening edges have ONLY SLIGHT edge wear! The cardboard is firm and strong. NONE of the surface of the front cover has rubbed away over the years, there is ZERO ringwear, and NO writing.
The gatefold has SLIGHT rubbing at the top and an ALMOST INVISIBLE 1cm vertical crease 10cm to the right of the top left corner. Apart from that it looks close to mint.
The back cover has MINIMAL creasing to the EXTREME top and bottom right corners and three ALMOST INVISIBLE vertical 0.25cm creases above the bottom edge. There is an ALMOST INVISIBLE 0.5cm horizontal crease 7cm below the top right corner of the back cover.
There is NO discolouration to the front or back cover. It looks CLOSE TO MINT!
THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE UK FIRST OR SECOND PRESSING TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! MOST OF THEM WERE PLAYED TO DEATH AND THE COVERS ARE SHABBY. DONT MISS OUT!
For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
