Description
This is the first pressing MONO UK LP "BEGGARS BANQUET" by the ROLLING STONES published in 1968 with the RED UNBOXED DECCA label
-LK4955.
THIS COPY FEATURES EARLY STAMPS AND J/T TAX CODE STAMPED ON THE SIDE-1, SIDE-2 RUN OUT AND ON THE LABELS.
The history of this copy is that it was bought on the first day of first issue by the previous owner who tells me he only ever played side-1 (once) and the album has been in a cupbord ever since. If you study the photos you can see there is just one faint spindle line on side-2 and side-1 is free of any spindle lines - this veryfies the owners statment. I have of course carefully play tested both sides.

VINYL EX. Beautiful original gloss which looks MINT. Even under halogen light the playing surfaces are unmarked and there is barely a mark on the runout (under light). Plays very nearly mint - silent intros/between tracks - not one pop or click and of course no track wear/distortion. This must be the ultimate copy that looks and plays near MINT. Matrix numbers:- XARL-8476-4A , XARL-8477-2A. 1 UC, 1 U.
LABELS EX. Nice original condition almost unmarked - see photos.
SLEEVE EX. Hardly any creases - very original spine - light scuff on top right hand corner (right gatefold) - printers ink mark under laminate (see detailed photo) - in nice condition. Polysleeve is also included.
INNER SLEEVE EX. Original RED MONO - no creases - no tears/splits or wear.
[My gradings are based on the "RECORD COLLECTOR'S" grading system. The following text is from the "RECORD COLLECTOR" price guide:-
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, with out any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.]
ALL PHOTOGRAPHS AND DESCRIPTIONS ARE OF THE ACTUAL ITEM FOR SALE.
