THE ROLLING STONES - 'BEGGARS BANQUET'. MONO. UK DECCA. LK.4955 (1968).

Original Decca LK 4995 LP, UK Mono 1968 ULTRA RARE 1st Press!!!  One of the greatest Rock and Roll LP's of ALL time in very desirable MONO format. Earliest 4A, 2A matrix.

There is some background noise mostly noticeable between tracks and fade-outs, but the audio quality is Excellent overall. Only very light surface marks. There are no jumps/skips or anything serious beyond some background sound in quieter parts.There is no groove wear distortion. The clear MONO mix is vibrant, punchy and impactful.

The Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve has some lamination missing from the wide spine area. This laminate 'chipping' and subsequent loss, was very common with wider-spined laminated album covers and only a very few high-end investment grade copies survive with it fully intact. Such copies have fetched prices anywhere between £500-£1000 over the last couple of years!

The spine text is all there with no major issues other than the missing lamination mentioned previously. The gatefold does look like it has had a couple of millimetres guilloteened from the opening edges, probably to keep the gatefold sleeve sharp-edged. This was like this when I bought it 20 years ago, and in no way detracts from the beauty of the cover, but I feel I should mention it as I like to be 100% honest in all my listings. Were it not for this the cover would easily grade as EX+.

The front and back of this gorgeous stylish gatefold sleeve are flat and without creasing, lamination lifting or lamination bubbles. Opened up, the conservative exterior reveals an image of the band in complete rock and roll excess. A very nice example of a classic album.

A few of the VERY top UK eBay dealers buy certain items from me privately and several items which I have sold them have surfaced on their own eBay listings. The selling prices for their auctions are very high - so buy with confidence - my grading is accurate in all my listings.

The time has come for me to start selling off big chunks of my otherwise 'keeper' collection. Some of these records are incredibly hard to find in such superb condition. Regarding postage and shipping:  I am not Amazon.com.  I go to the post office once or possibly twice a week.  During the holidays it will be increasingly painful, so be patient.  "Priority mail" means it goes by air...it does not mean it goes out in the next hour.  I have never had a package lost and have never had any complaints about packing - in fact my packaging rates among the best on eBay. I use cruciform mailers (usually doubled-up) and loads of parcel tape to ensure a strong package.

I have no need to use the words MEGA, ULTRA, or c**p on about how many of these LPs got trashed at parties. I try to avoid exhaustive usage of exclamation marks in my honest descriptions and I also avoid the over-use of CAPITAL letters (unless they are used for relevant emphasis to my auction description) and I do not wish to shout at my buyers. I know that you know about the records you wish to purchase. One other thing - I do not sell items which have had the opening edges of the cover trimmed by a guillotine or blade to make the covers appear in better condition. Some other sellers do this as a regular practice, and it's just not on.
