SUPER ULTRA RARE ALT PRESSING FEATURING DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF BROWN SUGAR AND WILD HORSES
I am proud to offer you one of the most collectible albums on the planet. This is the massively rare error pressing of the Stones’ 1971 "Hot Rocks (1964-71)" anthology. This press contains versions of Brown Sugar and Wild Horses which are TOTALLY different from the widely known and officially released studio versions of the two songs. These alternate versions were NEVER released before or after this pressing.
Brown Sugar has the rhythm part pushed all the way to the front, which makes it feel like you’re sitting in between Charlie and Bill. Bobby Keys legendary sax solo is totally missing, and the lead guitar and solo parts are gone, too. All you hear is Keith’s awesome rhythm work.
Wild Horses is missing Mick Taylor’s solo at the end, and this version is shorter than the popular version. The special aspect of this version is the vocal. It is completely different…and better, I think…than the well-known version. Jagger is much more emotional on this take. I guess he was really missing Marianne that day!
The jacket grades at just about EX. It’s super clean, with no writing, splits or markings. The original inner sleeves are included, as is the original 211 Reasons Why The Rolling Stones Is The World’s Greatest Rock N’ Roll Band brochure. It’s a complete set!
I play graded this one, and it's VG+/VG++. The Lee Hulko mastering on this set is phenomenal. I cleaned both albums for you using my VPI record vacuum, so both discs are super clean. The sound is very full, very loud, and very live. On my system, some songs play just fine, other have crackle. But let’s face it, you’re buying this set to own the ultra rare versions of Brown Sugar and Wild Horses. Those two songs play very very well.
