An exceptional 'VAULT' copy of  'Its Only Rock and Roll, in SUPERB condition, with outstanding TOP AUDIO from start to finish!

It's Only Rock 'n Roll is the 12th British and 14th American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1974. It would be the last Rolling Stones album for guitarist Mick Taylor and the songwriting and recording of the album's title track would have a connection to Taylor's eventual replacement, Ronnie Wood.  The album reached #1 in the United States and #2 in the United Kingdom.

Work began on It's Only Rock 'n Roll following The Rolling Stones' 1973 European tour. Production began in November at Munich, Germany's Musicland Studios. According to guitarist Keith Richards, "We were really hot (off the road) and ready just to play some new material.

The album was at first developed as a half-live, half-studio production with one side of the album featuring live performances from The Stones' European tour while the other side would be composed of newly recorded cover versions of the band's favourite R&B songs. Covers recorded included a take of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away", Shirley & Company's "Shame, Shame, Shame", and The Temptations' "Ain't Too Proud to Beg". Soon the band began working off riffs by Richards and new ideas by Mick Jagger and the original concept was scrapped in favour of an album with all-new material. The cover of "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" would be the only recording to make the cut, while the "Drift Away" cover is a popular bootleg.

It's Only Rock 'n Roll would mark the Stones' first effort in the producer's chair since Their Satanic Majesties Request, and the first for Jagger and Richards under their pseudonym "The Glimmer Twins", and would become a Stones classic, heralding many musical sounds of the 1980s in an album released in 1974.

'Its Only Rock and Roll'

 is a complex and varied collection of music, and is a relatively sensitive piece of vinyl, and hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like ' Fingerprints File .' This pressing has strong undistorted audio, with Super clear sound. There is certainly no dominant  interference, and NO pops or clicks or Distortion. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity, and a deep bassy feel!

Superb sound, every track has been tested and I could find no obvious sound blemishes at all. Wonderful TOP audio, there is NO distortion, NO sticks or jumps what so ever, and virtual silence between the tracks.

This vinyl is an absolute gem! It must be the clearest copy of 

'Its Only Rock and Roll

 I've heard. ' Luxury ' sings out with silence in the run ins and quiet areas. Great music with great clarity, and so hard, if not impossible to find with this type of sound.

The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals which come through with tremendous power. Its the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear. The tonal quality make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten. It really lets you hear the new stones sounds that predicted the future sounds of the 1980's, while only being made in 1974. And this is an original from 1974!

A great all round example of this classic Stones vinyl. This is a great Audio pleasure and I would easily give the Audio a NEAR MINT grading.

THE RECORD - VISUAL GRADING - Stunning - NEAR MINT ARCHIVE CONDITION

Visually immaculate, this is a superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing, it looks unplayed. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original pressings, this vinyl could have only been on the turntable once or twice. The record has great shine, with NO scratches and NO hairlines. Inspected under a spot light, there are barely any paper removal marks, a couple of ultra light whispy lines only. This is a stunning example, truly archive quality, and the ultimate final upgrade.

Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.

THE COVER – NEAR MINT

This cover is bright a clean, unlaminated and in stunning condition. NO scuffing to the corners, but NO creasing. The opening edges of this extra thick card are very square and un frayed. The back cover is nice and clean, with NO ring wear, which is very unusual for these covers. The Spine is wide and true and shows No wear, and NO rubbing to the corners. The spine text is intact. 

A great example. All round, this is a truly superb, vault condition cover!!!

THE LABELS -  MINT CONDITION

Superb labels. Virtually NO spindle traces. There is one tiny line on the labels that is so faint, I am not even sure of it is from the the spindle. Absolutely no other marks or writing what so ever, and NO brush marks that these labels seem prone to. PERFECT examples, with the pressing plastic still protruding from the spindle hole!

THE INNER - NEAR MINT

Comes with the original picture inner sleeve, to protect the records -  NO SEAM SPLITS, COMPLETELY UNMARKED IN ANY WAY.

A complete STEREO 1st press of Its Only Rock and Roll in any condition is scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound.

Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.
